Finding balance, that is one of the goals we all have in common. We desperately need those days when we feel at ease. But, as many things in life, balance is not really something you just happen to find, it’s something you need to create for yourself.
As bloggers or entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get caught up in work trying to stand out and achieve each goal that we forget that taking care of other parts of our lives is just as important.
What really means to be in balance? To me, it’s about giving the importance it deserves to each part of your life: family, friends, love, work, health…to recognize that they all have a special place and you need to put time and effort into them equally. This, in the end, helps you feel motivated, happy and calm.
In a world that moves so fast, that you are constantly bombarded with information, new discoveries, technology, how do you truly create balance? The complicated aspect of this question is that the answer might sound overwhelming: balance is not an ultimate goal, but a complete process.
Life is about ups and downs. The truth is that even if you would like to control every single thing that happens to you…you can’t. What you can control is how you react to a specific situation you are in, that’s why being balanced is an ongoing process. It’s a full-time job. You need to consciously create it every day.
How can you make it happen? Here’s how to get started:
1. Create healthy habits
Healthy eating, working out, going to bed early, taking time for yourself – start creating those habits that will not only make you feel great but also give you the energy you need to conquer your goals.
2. Make your own rules
It’s easy to get caught up in what others are doing, thinking that maybe if you follow their steps you will have the exact same results. While sometimes this might work, you can end up really frustrated. Make your own rules, find what works for you and don’t be scared to be different.
3. Make time for yourself
I’ve said this so many times on this blog that I feel like a broken record, but don’t forget to make time for yourself. Life gets crazy, I know, just take a few minutes each day to do whatever you want and enjoy it, no guilt here.
As much as you want to do everything on your list each day, avoid feeling stressed out and instead prioritize. Make a list of what you need to accomplish each day and start with the most important. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t finish all on your list.
5. Stop obsessing
It’s easy to get obsessed when you are trying to reach your goals but try to slow down, breathe, and instead, make a plan on how you are going to get there.
Tell me, how do you create balance in your life?
